Rick’s Passion for Helping Others with Technology

Rick Simmons, supervisor deskside analyst at Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital, is one of our proud team members, and has been with us now for 17 years! His role involves fixing computer equipment for end-users, such as doctors and nurses. This includes not only computers but printers, scanners, badge readers as well as other technology. He also fulfills various I&T requests.

“I like the interaction with people and having the ability to make their day,” Rick says. “I also like it when I show up and they are happy to see me because they know I’m going to fix their issue.”

Rick shares that he has seen the faith-based aspect of our ministry lived out in many ways.

“If I were to choose one thing I appreciate most, it would be the compassion. Everyone at Clermont Hospital is patient, friendly and genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of not only patients but also their colleagues. It’s been especially true this past year and a half during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The whole I&T team is what makes Rick’s job so enjoyable to him. He has great team members to lean on that are willing to help whenever necessary.

“It’s so nice to know that if you run into a stumper, you have about 150 techs at your fingertips to help you,” Rick shares. “We truly have an awesome team from all the technicians to the managers and directors. Everyone is so approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help anyone.”

Rick is passionate about his work and is also a big fan of The Ohio State University.

He shares, “O-H — I-O, and 2021 will be the year the Buckeyes beat that team up north the ninth time in a row! GO BUCKS!”
