Neha Jeirath, MD, has always been interested in science ever since she was little.
“I also really enjoy interacting with people and decided that medicine was a good way to incorporate both of these things into my career,” she shares.
Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) was not Dr. Jeirath’s first choice in medical school. However, once she completed her rotation, she knew this specialty was for her. Today, Dr. Jeirath is proud to practice at Mercy Health — East Obstetrics and Gynecology in Cincinnati, OH.
She also has a personal connection to this field of medicine.
“My aunt was an OBGYN and we have always been really close. In fact, she delivered me when I was born! I always remember growing up hearing her say how much she loved being able to see and take care of women during so many different stages of their lives.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on so many people and changed lives as well as perspectives. This holds true for Dr. Jeirath as well.
“COVID-19 has really changed my outlook on many things, and not just at work. It has really made me appreciate so many of the simple things we took for granted before the pandemic started, like having visitors in the hospital and office to support our patients. Also, just the normal human interactions that come with working in this field. I am really looking forward to and hoping for a return to normalcy soon,” she says.
When Dr. Jeirath is not at work, she love’s spending time outside with her son, husband and dog.
“We love going for walks and visiting the zoo or various parks. Some of my friends from medical school and I also just started our own book club to get us back to reading for fun. And pre-pandemic, I loved to travel all over the world.”
